Cardiology is the branch of medicine that deals with
the diagnosis and treatment of the heart and its diseases. While heart disease is not uncommon, at UHD, we strive to not
only treat it, but respond proactively by implementing treatments that prevent it.
Our cardiology diagnostics offer both treadmill and non-treadmill stress testing, and the latest in heart imaging techniques.
Once your issues have been diagnosed, the cardiologist will develop a treatment plan which may include mediations,
exercise and lifestyle changes or surgery — and we will work with your primary care physician to coordinate treatments
to return you to the very best overall health.
Cardiologists from the Minneapolis Heart Institute (Abbott) come to UHD the first and third Tuesday of each month. The
specialists consult with patients about stress EKG testing, nuclear imaging and perform cardioversions.
