Inspire Therapy

Treat Sleep Apnea Without a Mask

United Hospital District is proud to offer Inspire®, an innovative treatment option for adults with obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) who struggle with CPAP therapy. Unlike traditional CPAP treatment, Inspire works from inside the body to help keep your airway open while you sleep. The small device is implanted during a same-day outpatient procedure and operates with a simple handheld remote.

What Is Inspire?

Inspire is the only FDA-approved implantable therapy for obstructive sleep apnea that treats the root cause of airway blockage during sleep.

The Inspire system includes:

  • A small implant placed during an outpatient procedure
  • A handheld remote for easy control
  • Technology that works while you sleep to support normal breathing

How Inspire Works

  1. Turn on Inspire before bed using the handheld remote.
  2. While you sleep, the device monitors your breathing patterns.
  3. Gentle stimulation helps keep your airway open.
  4. Turn the device off when you wake up.

The remote also allows you to pause therapy during the night or adjust settings as directed by your physician.
