The purpose of pain management is to evaluate, diagnose and treat different types of acute and chronic pain. Treatment options can be simple or complex, depending on the cause of the pain. The overall goal is to return the patient to optimal function.
At United Hospital District, we offer a wide range of nonsurgical, non-narcotic pain management procedures, ranging from joint injections to spinal injections. Our Clinical Pain Management Department is led by Tim Klassen, who is highly trained in this field and holds numerous advanced training degrees and certifications. Tim has been performing chronic pain procedures since 2014.
REFERRALS ARE NEEDED
- All Pain Management services at UHD require a referral from a primary care physician or provider.
- Patients may not schedule an appointment without a referral.
Once referred and scheduled, patients will have an initial consult with a Pain Management specialist to determine the best course of action. Any procedures are performed as Same Day Surgeries, with the majority of injections done under x-ray or ultrasound guidance.
UHD’s Pain Management services can provide effective treatment for many common conditions, including:
